Because babies rarely arrive exactly on their due date, I reserve your session based on your estimated due date rather than a specific day. Once your baby is born, you’ll simply let me know, and we’ll finalize the exact date and time.

Booking early offers several benefits:

• You’ll have one less thing to think about after your baby arrives.
• We can plan the style, location, and overall feel of your session ahead of time.
• You’ll have plenty of time to ask questions and prepare.

When Should Newborn Photos Actually Take Place?

The ideal time for traditional newborn portraits is within the first 5 to 14 days after birth.

During these first two weeks, babies are typically:

• Sleepier and easier to gently pose.
• Naturally curled from being in the womb.
• More comfortable being swaddled.
• Less likely to be bothered by frequent movement.

These early days allow us to create the timeless, cozy images many parents love.

That said, there is no such thing as “too late.”

Every baby is different, and beautiful images can be created whether your little one is 10 days old, 3 weeks old, or even a few months old.

What If My Baby Arrives Early or Late?

This is completely normal—and it’s exactly why I schedule newborn sessions around your due date instead of choosing a fixed appointment months in advance.

Once your baby arrives, simply send me a message within the first couple of days, and we’ll confirm your session date.
