Whenever I get an inquiry about a newborn session, one of the most common questions is “what should I provide and what do you bring with you?” Or if this is a studio session, “what do you have at your studio?” This is a great question! After booking, I provide you with a detailed style guide that lays out everything you need to know 😉 This includes when the best time is to do the session, how to look for lighting in your home / nursery, how to prep and dress your family, what to have ready, and what I bring with me! I will share a few of those things here in this post.
I bring with me a moses basket bassinet (simple and sweet), several blankets, swaddles, an extra crib sheet, bonnets, bows, a few sweet and simple onesies/ gowns, diaper covers, and a dress if you choose to borrow one from the client closet! I love keeping newborn sessions simple and neutral, but also want to incorporate anything that is special to you! With that said, you do not have to provide anything for baby, but you are welcome to. A lot of times families will have a family heirloom or a special outfit or swaddle they want to use, and that is absolutely fine!
Other than the basics, I bring a few “behind the scenes” things with me as well. Some of these include a treat and playlist of favorite songs for your toddler, a rattle and stuffie to help get their attention, and white noise! If you have anything special thats helpful for me to know about your kiddos, I would love to know! 🙂 I hope this is helpful but always feel free to ask questions.
