Last week I photographed and in home session for baby charlotte (Charlie) in Clemmons which is a suburb of Winston Salem. I love when I get to photograph little girly nurseries, probably because I never had one! Charlie had a beautiful heirloom dress, pink scalloped walls, and gold accents. (que heart eyes and all the dainty girly details!) Their home had several rooms that got great natural light in the afternoon, which allowed me to get creative and use several different spaces for their images. As your Winston Salem Newborn Photographer, I always spend time before your session talking about the lighting, what spaces you want to use, and any additional details you want to incorporate. We talk about expectations for siblings (none ! ;)) and anything else you wish to capture! We make sure to take as many breaks as needed for nursing, changing, playing, feeding…etc. I never rush a newborn session. I want you all to feel comfortable, at ease, and free to go at the pace you desire. Baby Charlie stopped to feed a couple of times which is what allowed me to really bond with big brother and chat all things nursing and postpartum with mama.
One of my favorite parts of this session was following big brother Andrew into the playroom and grabbing some action shots of him with his favorite toys! Newborn images don’t have to be all posed. Sometimes allowing siblings to play and feel comfortable with you in their space makes for the best photos. Here are some of my favorites from their session! Thank you guys to trusting me to come into your home and capture this special time.
